San Francisco based artist Brian Pollett pushed the artistic envelope by creating art under the influence of 20 different forms of drugs.
Pollett, known as Pixell-Pusha to his fans and friends wanted to see the effects of popular drugs on the creative flow. He said he “wanted to create opportunities to educate, whether related to psychedelics or art.” Using the same subject , Pollett ingested a different psychedelic drug each day for 20 days and the results are astounding.
The most notable difference was the suspension of linear time. Pollett also sighted the liberation from social constricts to be a perceivable difference. He was able to execute his art in a timeless void without fear of judgment or criticism. While the use of illegal drugs is not being hailed as the creative wave of the future, Pollett did feel that he was able to use his state of euphoria to create honest art from the heart.
