Have you ever been to Dublin, Ireland? Maybe visited the well-known spots every tourists comes to see and document. You have the Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, which is one of the most visited spot in Ireland, and also the Phoenix Park or Guinness Storehouse’ ground, which is a beautiful place by the way, well now forget about all these places because the best place to visit in Dublin is the state of the art Long Room in the Library of Trinity College. Yeah, that’s right!

The library was built between 1712 and 1732 and the main chamber measures approximately 65 meters long and contains more than 200,000 books. Wow! This is in fact the largest library of books in Ireland and was considered in 1801 as legal deposit or the “copyright library,” they have the right to receive the materials published in Ireland and United Kingdom, free of charge, which is why they got these hundreds of thousand volumes of books.
Aside from these, the library is also the permanent home to the famous Book of Kells which contains the four Gospel Book written in Latin by monks over 1200 years ago. This illuminated manuscript is now regarded as one of the most popular and significant manuscript ever written. One of the few remaining copies of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic in 1916 is housed in this longed chamber library.
Whenever you get the chance to visit Dublin, make the Library of Trinity College has to be your utmost priority to visit. And you can take this to the bank, or library, whatever!
