Robin Wight is a UK based sculptor with a talent for creating breathtaking sculptures. He uses stainless steal wire to create fairies that look like they’re dancing in the wind.
I had an obsession with fairies, growing up, and still have a love for them today. I would love to display one of these mystical fairy sculptures in my garden. That would be a dream come true for me.
The process of how Wight creates these sculptures is amazing in itself. He first creates a steel skeleton then wraps that in layers of wire. Each layer of wire is thinner than the last. The first layer forms the skeleton, the next is the muscle and body mass. The last thinnest layer forms the skin.
The most interesting thing about this process is he buries a stone heart at the core of each fairy. He even engraves some of the hearts with little messages.
Now if I could get my hands on one or five of these amazing sculptures. Take a look at these photos of Wight’s work. The photos really do his fairies justice in showing off their beauty.
