One man’s junk is another woman’s treasure. Bunnie Reiss collects old, worn objects and turns them into new works of art. Her current project involves turning old worn out leather gloves into new, inspiring works of art. Each pair of gloves represents an animal.
These designs aren’t meant to look exactly like the animals they represent. But she includes prominent features of the animals in her designs. It’s just enough to hint at what animals are being represented with an artistic touch.
Reiss doesn’t just do old, used gloves. She also does murals and larger works of art. For example, her most recent piece is a 3,500 square foot mural on the east side of Milwaukee for the Black Cat Mural Alley.
