In 2013, Noha Bloom rescued an abandoned baby magpie that he found on the ground in Newport, New South Wales. In an instant decision, he took her home and the family decided to raise her and nurse her back to health then release her back to the wild. The only thing they didn’t ever imagine happening is that she will stay with them and become a part of the family. Penguin is her name, and she acts more like a dog than a wild bird. Mom Sam, Dad Cameron and sons Reuben, Noha and Oli all love Penguin and she turned to another family member. Just to make sure you understand the awesomeness of this thing. She is free to fly and leave if she wants but she never strays too long away from the Bloom’s home and even comes inside when it’s raining or when she just wants a hug.
From the words of Cameron himself ” She’s here at 3:30pm usually when the kids get home from school. She signs when they come up the driveway. She usually hangs around until night and then I put her in the tree outside somewhere. She’s free to fly – she often will just hang out around us in the morning then when the kids go to school she’ll do her own thing. I never thought she’s become as much a part of the family as she has. They ( the kids ) love her like a dog. but better ” you can follow this adorable family on Instagram
