At first glance you see the famous Dorothea Lange’s Migrant Mother photo that was captured in 1936, but if you look for another second you begin to notice that the women in the picture is not Florence Owens Thompson at all, in fact the woman in the photo is not a woman at all!
It’s the actor John Malkovich. American photographer Sandro Miller created an awesome photo session with the actor John Malkovich where they recreate famous portraits that were captured throughout history. The project is called ” Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich: Homage to photographic masters

This is the original migrant mother picture by Dorothea Lange

Miller began his career at age 16, since then over three decades has passed by and he became one of the world’s leading advertising photographers. Besides his work with the industry, Miller likes to create his own personal projects. He met Malkovich back in 1990 while he was shooting photographs for Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago ( Malkovich became a charter member there in 1976 )
” John is the most brilliant, prolific person I know. His genius is unparalleled. I can suggest a mood or an idea and within moments, he literally morphs into the character right in front of my eyes. He is so trusting of my work and our process, I’m truly blessed to have him as my friend and collaborator ”
