Joshua Abarbanel, originally from England and currently based in California creates layers of precisely cut segments of wood that form sculptures of stacks of organic and geometric shapes. The artist has managed to effortlessly combine free-form curves with rigid repetitions of spikes and swirls. The work of Abarbanel resembles the randomness of nature and the order of manmade mechanisms.
” The works continue Abarbanel’s exploration of form and pattern, using shapes, colors and compositions evocative of biological, botanical and mechanical structures. ” Five of Abarbanel’s works are currently being displayed at Art Share L.A as part of the Sticks & Stones which is a group show featuring artist who use the oldest materials in the world, such as wood and rocks. The exhibition will run until July 25. View more work and learn more in these social links: Website | Facebook | Instagram
