Just how the social media changes our perception of reality, or distorts it, to be more precise? To what extent social media can cause addiction that changes people’s behaviour to that degree to which they are capable of detaching themselves from real-life situations, emotions and events, and become social media addicts hungry for attention? Belgian illustration artist Brecht Vandenbroucke uses a satirical approach to show us just how ridiculously a human’s consciousness can change under the influence of social media, and how devastatingly it can change people into becoming the victims of branding and consumerism, measuring their value by the number of likes, and labelling themselves to fit a certain frame.
