Now here’s something you don’t ordinarily see. One photographer captured a bear and wolf conquering the wild together.
Lassi Rautiainen is a Finnish photojournalist who documented the relationship of a male brown and female grey wolf for ten days.
He took pictures of the two sharing food and territory.
The bear and wolf even engaged in a bit of fun in the wild.
“It’s very unusual to see a bear and a wolf getting on like this,” says Rautiainen.
“No-one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear became friends.”
Although their friendship is a mystery, Lassi has a theory of why the bear and wolf teamed up.
“I think that perhaps they were both alone and they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone.”
“It is nice to share rare events in the wild that you would never expect to see,” adds the photographer.
