You already heard about Rabbit Island and Cat island right? But what about Fox village? Yup this is also in Japan and it was opened in 1990. Located in the mountains near Shiroishi ” Zao Fox Village ” is home for hundreds of free-roaming foxes that eat, live, work and play.
There are 6 different fox breeds on the village that include the silver fox, the platinum fox and the Japanese red fox. You can visit the village for 100 yen ( less than $1 ) and feed the foxes. You can’t pet the foxes or bring your kids to play with them as the foxes are not domesticated. In Japan foxes are considered to be tricksters that have magical powers. They are also believed to be messengers of Inari Okapi, the Shinto diety of prosperity, fertility and agriculture. Find out more about this cool place here: Fox village
