An injured squirrel found on the roadside, quivering and weak was saved and rescued by Redditor Chris (also known as carefree dude) and his wife who unreluctantly received and brought the injured little animal home. Only to find out the this poor injured squirrel was not capable to do anything on its own. He could not walk on its own, and they need a syringe to give him water. Luckily, they have reached out to a wildlife rehabilitator who assisted them on giving this fellow an immediate medical attention. After almost a week, the squirrel showed a little improvement and is gaining strength. The family then resolved to name him Mitten and adopted him to the family.
Chris thought that Mitten can no longer live in the wild though he seems to be recovering fast from an accident. The family is organizing a new cage for him with a real tree inside. But meanwhile, he look so happy hanging on the family’s Christmas tree so they allowed him to stay there for some time.
Chris’ Family is planning to put up a wildlife rehabilitation center in the future because of their love and concern for animals especially to those that are abandoned and neglected by their owners. They aim to rescue as many animals as they could.
