Amazon Rainforest Spheres Mini Work Space To Open In Seattle

Plants do enrich any workspace and that is a rule when it comes to decorating offices for a very long time. Office without a plant is just too dull and sterile and perhaps unmotivating and at the end tiring. But what happens when someone takes this rule to a whole new level? Let’s check out Amazon’s mini rainforest workspace spheres which are opening in Seattle.

“The Spheres” is the name of this Amazon fantastic project which took over seven years of planning and contraction and now it’s finally ready to welcome Seattle’s working people. These rainforest spheres hold 40,000 plants from 30 different countries around the world.

Their purpose is to provide comfortable places for workers to go on a break or a meet up away from their desks in the totally refreshing environment and to charge with natural energy.

The Spheres are made of glass and steel and they consist of three connected spheres of different sizes. They are big enough to welcome over 800 workers and the biggest sphere is 90 feet high and 130 feet wide. There are zones with different microclimate so you can find your perfect feet that suits your preferences when it comes to heat or humidity. Also, there’s a ventilation system that mimics a windy breeze.

The biggest challenge of all was transporting Rubi, the 55-foot tall tree from a farm in Southern California to Seattle, but as you can see from the photos below, efforts paid off because Amazon’s mini rainforests, The Spheres, look simply amazing. More info:
