Everyone loves to sit around the yard during the summer and relax. So we found this easy DIY guide for building your own hanging chair from scratch. just follow the simple instructions and you could be swinging in no time
Here’s what you need:
- 3 1 1/4-inch hardwood dowels, 30-inches long
- 2 5/8-inch hardwood dowels, 36-inches long
- 200 yards, 1/4-inch macrame cord or rope
- 8 yards, 1/2-inch rope
- 4 1-inch wood screws
- Drill
- Measuring tape
- Scissors

Let’s start by measuring the dowels

Now drill holes in the dowels

Make sure to sand the holes so they’re nice an soft

Now slide the dowels together

And secure the frame with screws

Now hang the frame

Wrap the cords around the dowel like so

And cross the dowels from left to right

Now cross it from right to left

And complete the square knot

Start with the third cord

And repeat the pattern

continue to knot until the seat is 45 inches long

When you reach 45 inches tie the end to the frame

And tie it again once more time

And now cut the end of the cords

Cut a 1/2-inch rope

Now string it through the dowel

String the rope through the top and bottom of the frame


Tie the rope around the third dowel

Hanf the seat, adjust the rope and enjoy ( that was easy – NOT! )
