Polish illustrator Bozena Rydlewska, aka Bozka has created a 3D art that takes children’s pop-up books to a whole new level. She believes that in our busy lives it’s easy to overlook the natural beauty that is all around us, that is why she created her ornate and dream-like creations and reminds us that mother nature is a true artist
Bozka’s work comes from the distinct connection she feels with plants and nature in general, in her profile Nature Recall which is a community for those who feel the same as her and a sense of camaraderie with the plant kingdom she says ” This work is the effect of my many dreams – it is our floral spinal cord with a heart-shaped center, the head of a flower that is looking at us. with us always looking back. There is the movement and stillness of nature and all is suspended in the vast, white space of dreams” Bozka believes that plants have a human, physical qualities, and her work is an extension of that feeling
The artist beautifully evokes the qualities of a fairy tale, looking pleasing on the surface, but deep in the message that it is attempting to convey. With Bozka’s help and her relationship with the plant world, we, as onlookers have the rare and exciting opportunity to view nature as we’ve never seen it before
