Fans of Netflix will be very happy to learn that the company decided to renew one the best shows and highly rated new shows on the platform – ever! The show also got a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which never really happens, and you can understand why.
While Netflix is usually very good at giving the viewers what they want ( I watch the algorithm recommendations all the time ) the exception was with Mindhunter, but let’s not get into that discussion shall we? It only had two seasons, let’s leave it with that.
The company announced that it will quickly renew Wednesday after it had a massive success! This move gives new life to Manifest after the ever-so disappointing cancelation on TV.
Now, however, Netflix has done it again! They are renewing a show that the fans said is a 10 out of 10.
The show we are talking about is Blue Eye Samurai, that was quietly launched on Netflix in November and follows the protagonist Mizu, which lives a double life as she tries to get her revenge on the people who made her an outcast.
Starring Maya Erskine as Mizu as the lead, the show is set in Edo-period Japan, the anime series also stars Brenda Song, Kenneth Branagh and George Takei.
After it’s release, viewers posted raving reviews on X ( formally twitter ) and shared their praise and how good the show really is!
One user posted ” BLUE EYE SAMURAI is amazing! ” while another added ” Incredible story and action ”
With all this praise, viewers were surprised there is only 1 season, but Netflix delivered big this week announcing that there will be another season of the hit show.
” Revenge does not rest ” Blue Eye Samurai will return for season 2 ” the announcement reads
Hearing this news the fans got excited and could not hide their excitement.
” I need more Mizu immediately ” one user wrote after reading the news and shared his post. Another posted ” Blue Eye Samurai returns for season 2 – I am ready! ”
The creators of the show Amber Noizumi and Michael Green shared their excitement as well online by saying ” When we started this project, we made a commitment to take this very personal story set in Edo-period Japan and bring it to life in the most authentic and beautiful way possible. ”
” Our animators and historians, musicians, martial artists and voice cast made this a reality beyond our expectations. ”
” We are thankful to our entire team and to our viewers from all over the world who have shown such passion for Mizu and her path of revenge. Mizu has a lot more blood to spill! We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners at Netflix for letting the journey continue”
It is still not confirmed exactly when Mizu will be back by Netflix, but hopefully fans will not have to wait too long.
