We sometimes forget we are small and weak people when it comes to earth nature. Tornados, Sinkholes, Tsunamis and other natural disasters keep remind us that the earth is bigger and stronger. below are just a few examples of earth holes
1: Deans blue hole, Long Islands, Bahamas
660ft deep, the phrase blue hole is where the entrance of the hole is below sea level. Deans blue hole is the deepest seawater blue hole in the world
2: Mt baldy sink hole, Indiana
These 11ft deep holes are starting to appear around Mt baldy sand dune area near Lake Michigan. In 2011 one hole even swallowed a child and he was rescued three hours later
3: Ice cube Neutrino Observer hole
This is just one out of 85 holes that are dug using heated pipes, they are 1.5 miles deep and they are being used by researchers at the South Pole Telescope
4: Great Blue Hole, Belize
At 407ft deep it is considered one of the top scuba diving spots in the world
5: Glory Hole, Monticello Dam, California
This hole is a man made dam and is 304ft deep, if needed it can drain 48,000 cubic feet of water per second
6: Guatemala sinkhole
100ft deep, in 2010 this terrifying hole appeared in Guatemala city zone 2 and completely swallowed a three story tall building
