Alzheimer Artist’s Self Portrait Over 8 Years’ Time From Onset Until He Forgot

Alzheimer artist painted a self portrait once a year , for 8 years until he forgot to send them to the care facility management , this is both beautiful and sad . you can notice the paintings chance every year  , so the question is : did his skills degraded over the years or did he just paint how he thought he looked ? what do you think ?
