Melanie and Venessa Iris Roy had recently shared their side-by-side maternity pictures on Instagram, the couple from North Carolina never expected to see their pictures rise to viral fame
The first picture was taken in January 2014 when Venessa Iris was pregnant with their son Jax and next in January 2015 while Melanie was carrying their daughter Ero
The photos of the Roys were posted two months ago, but it was only in the recent week or so that they started reaching viral status, the photos were published on several LGBT-focused sites and also on a Brazilian advocacy group’s facebook page where it received more than 150,000 likes
” It’s crazy to see that people were referring to my family as an inspiration. We are still in complete shock ” says Melanie
” Venessa and I have always said we would both like to carry ” The two moms hope their side-by-side images will encourage another lesbian couples
” The woman’s body is incredible. The way it creates and grows another human being is amazing. We hope that our picture is that sign that some women may need to encourage them to carry a child “
