From the time we started tracking our human development, amazing things have happened. From the average person life span increasing to taking on flight and reaching the moon and the stars. Less wars, less disease and overall the quality of life has improved.
This post was originally posted in 2014 and I am glad to see that even now, in the end of 2022, a lot of things have improved even further. It would be interesting to go back to this post in a few years time and see what else has changed.

1. People learned to read
And access to information is only growing. Since the invention of the internet and it’s widespread adoption world wide, more and more people learn new things every day.
2. This is a very convenient date range, but ohh well.
Wars are becoming a thing of the past. More conflicts now are resolved by financial bans, cyber warfare and similar, and less with violent acts.
3. This is encouraging, but it should really be more like 0
While this is an encouraging stats, we really should strive and hope to lower this all the way down to 0

Space exploration is one of the most interesting and important fields for humanity.
5. Damn, so does that mean we can fly to the moon with a calculator?
No, and don’t try it either lol. It just means the tech world is growing and developing so fast, we reach new heights every year.

I remember when mobile phones started, you can see it was going to change the world

We learned that we soon will have glass that can store enough data to last a life time.
8. If you take porn out of the internet, numbers would be like 5 mb, total
And it keeps growing faster and faster. The amount of data we add will not stop.

Again, with technology advances, people can work less hours and achieve more. So the quality of life increases

And it should be more and more and faster as each day goes by. The amount of data people create is staggering

UPDATE – As of the end of 2019, this dropped to 9.2% of the world population. Great job! Now let’s drop it to 5%

People love to take and share photos.

In developing rich countries, there are very few deaths from measles, however in poor countries it is still a major concerns.
14. Because we are all fat bastards LOL
In today’s world we are on the verge of producing food in labs, and it will greatly reduce our dependent on live animals.
15. Awesome! Education for our children is the most important thing ever
Investing in education for young kids is one of the most important things ever
16. So basically a child born today will have his entire life recorded and shared on Youtube
We are pretty sure that today this is more like 100 years of recorded human history every single day

As computer power grows, less and less things will be better than a computer.
