Doctors said that you should drink 8 glasses of water a day to keep your body away from harmful sickness diseases. This makes about 1.9 liters of water intake everyday. But how about if you are barely drinking enough water and you are having a hard time bringing a bottled water with you? Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez, Guillaume Couche and Pierre Paslier of Skipping Rocks Lab in London, have gotten it covered for you. They will advise you to have a daily intake of H2O though edible blobs.
They named it as Ooho, a biodegradable water bottle that you’ve never seen ever before which is dub as “the water you can eat” simply because it is edible. Its layers of membrane are made up of calcium chloride and brown algae so its totally safe to be eaten. Mental Floss notes it’s a ‘riff on a culinary technique called spherification’ (like this delicious dessert).
Ooho is not yet available in the market but anytime soon it will after it garnered a $22,500 sustainability award from the Europian Union. Thought it look so weird like a water balloon and tasteless candy, and seem a joke to some, but this could be a clever solution to a huge problem in pollution. Instead of using plastic bottles and throwing it after use, this ones make a great conservation of the environment! Such a superb invention, Isn’t it?
“At the end of the day you don’t have to eat it. But the edible part shows how natural it is. People are really enthusiastic about the fact that you can create a material for packaging matter that is so harmless that you can eat it”, Paslier told the Guardian.
