While everyone is talking about the horrible festival called Yulin in China where people brutally kill and eat dogs ( everyone who takes part of something like this should be jailed ) We want to focus on a different festival that actually celebrates dogs everywhere!
During a festival called ” Diwali ” in India and Nepal which is a festival of lights there is an entire day that is dedicated solely to thanking dogs for their loyalty and friendship. Its a five day Hindu festival but specific to Nepal there is one day ( the second day ) called Kukur Tihar ( Worship of the dogs ) where they shower the dogs with love and thank them for always being our loyal companions.
People offer garlands, tika and delicious food to the dogs and acknowledge the cherished relationship between humans and our four legged friends. The garlands are a sign of respect for the animals. take a look at the images below celebrating dogs
